After completing a few more chores, and mornos with Greg, I was on the road a little after 10am. It felt weird to be driving to the international pharmaceutical congress, rather than flying, but it did mean I didn't have to think too much about how much luggage I was taking. I have a self-contained apartment (#38) with a full kitchen, and brought breakfast stuff, so an esky was an additional item of luggage.
I stopped at Maccas at Wild Horse Mountain for lunch, and arrived at the Parkview Apartments a little after 2pm. The four hour drive was easy with a medium amount of traffic travelling between 100-110km/h to start with, to heavy traffic moving between 60-80km/h, but moving without incident.
After dragging my luggage up 33 steps (4 times!), I unpacked and waited for Sylvain to arrive. We had a pre-dinner drink before heading to the Pig & Whistle for dinner. Sylvain and I met at the Sydney Congress in 2003, so it's been a 20-year friendship.
Slept quite well, despite the laundry truck that arrived at midnight, directly beneath my room window and proceeded to unload clean sheets, etc, and reload with dirty stuff! No soundproofed windows here.
